Quakers are understandably cautious about conditions for use of their Meeting House by hirers because of the current increase in Covid cases. At a Business Meeting on September 5th 2021 the following conditions were agreed .
For the ground floor there are 17 separate seating areas – 12 double and 5 single – giving a maximum capacity of 29. ( doubles are slightly separated and space between doubles is greater than 1 meter ). There are 28 stacked chairs in the room that may be used by hirers to increase capacity at their own risk but these must be replaced as found before leaving.
The large upper room is set up in the usual committee arrangement and it accommodates 12 chairs with nearly one meter spacing – again extra chairs are available if hirers want to increase capacity at their own risk. The small room is set up for 4 around the small table but there are two extra chairs to allow the normal capacity of 6.
The kitchens are not currently available for food and hot drinks but can be used for hand washing and access to cleaning materials or a drink of water. All WC’s will be available but with entry to each area still restricted to one person at a time (using the free/occupied signs). Face coverings are advised as is good ventilation .
Because of these restrictions we are offering a 10% reduction in our usual booking fees;
Single session of ground floor (Room 1) = £33.30p Double Session = £52.20p
Single session of upper floor (Room 2) = £21.60p Double session = £41.40p
Special rate for agreed small room users £10 per session.
Availability of rooms can be checked on our Calendar. Use the week tab to see the duration of bookings.
(A new door code will be issued at the time of booking)
These conditions will be reviewed if the Covid situation changes
We have 3 meeting rooms available for hire at our premises on Priory Road, Chichester. The Friends Meeting House welcome all organisations as long as their aims and policies are not in serious conflict with Quaker beliefs. All rooms have wireless Internet access. The largest of the rooms also has a ceiling mounted projector and a hearing loop.
Please note there is no access for wheelchairs to the upper floor. Stairs to the upper floor have a gentle rise and there are handrails on both sides.
Our three toilets on the ground floor are gender neutral with one being more spacious, allowing for wheelchair access, personal assistance and baby changing and childcare facilities.
The hiring rates described below refer to room booking sessions for a morning (9.00-13.00), afternoon (13.30-17.30) or evening (18.30-22.30) session. Times may be altered by agreement.
To see if a room is available, please check the Calendar here. (Click on Week tab in the Calendar to see duration of bookings)
The Master Calendar is held by the Lettings Clerk, (contact details below) and as the web-site version is updated periodically, availability needs to be confirmed with the Lettings Clerk to be certain a time is free. Please note that times shown indicate when the rooms are reserved (and so not available for booking). They do not show the start times for activities.
